This Armring is based on the archaeological finds of the Oseberg Ship found in Tønsberg, Norway dated to the Viking Age. The design is based on the dragon heads found on the ship and adapted into an armring exactly like would have been worn more than 1000 years ago. This one unlike many others is longer and more flexible and meant to be worn around the upper arm/triceps. The original is kept at the Viking Ship Museum in Oslo, Norway but you can now own a bracelet exactly like was worn more than 1000 years ago.
Armrings were some of the most valuable items in the Viking Age and the most attested pieces of jewelry in the old literature. They were used for multiple purposes such as gift giving, swearing oaths, payment and even in religious rituals.
