Odin's Mead of Poetry Drinking Horn
Odin's Mead of Poetry Drinking Horn
In Norse Mythology, the story is told of how Odin acquired the mead of poetry which would make anyone who drank it wise and poetic. The mead was a mixture of honey and the blood of the All-wise Kvasir. It was kept by the jotun named Suttungr. Odin managed to steal the mead from Suttungr and aquired his sacred knowledge.
This drinking horn is inspired by the mead of poetry with the inside coated in red and gold food-grade resin, just like the mead was made from honey and the blood of Kvasir
Drinking horns were some of the most used beverage vessels in the viking age. It was for a practical and even ritual use as told in the old Sagas. This lightweight, durable, cattle horn is polished and sealed with food safe resin, with colors of the ocean, to ensure long term freshness and to prevent leaking and gamey smell/taste.
