Germanic Arm Ring
Germanic Arm Ring
This Armring is based on the many similar archaeological finds dating to the Germanic Migration Period and before. More basic than the Viking Age armrings but equally as beautiful, these types were worn by the Germanic people all over Europe up to 400 years before the Viking age.
This particular design is a replica of an original that is now being kept at the Swedish History Museum in Stockholm. But you can now own a bracelet just like what was worn 1500 years ago.
Armrings were some of the most valuable items in the Viking Age and the most attested pieces of jewelry in the old literature. They were used for multiple purposes such as gift giving, swearing oaths, payment and even in religious rituals.
