This ring is designed and produced in Norway by a family owned jewelry maker, based on a find in the famous Oseberg Ship from Tønsberg, Norway. The Oseberg ship is perhaps the richest archaeological find of the entire viking age. It was an extravagant ship burial filled with jewelry, garments and other valuables that belonged to the 2 women buried there. They were believed to be either royalty or very influential and beloved Seeresses(Völva).
A photo of the original is unavailable for this item but it can be found at the famous Vikingskipmuseet in Oslo, Norway where the rest of the remains of this ship are also held.
